North County Raiders at Windsor Owls (Pete’s Predictions)
Last year, the North County Raiders defeated the Windsor Owls with a score of 14 to 12. North County with a record of 1W-5L will be traveling to Windsor who is 3W-3L. The Raiders have given up an average of 37 points per game this season. However, the Raiders have managed to score in all but one game. The Windsor Owls have three impressive wins under their belt, they scored 66 points in their win at Clayton and 36 points at their wins against Affton and Herculaneum.
The Windsor Owls have an impressive one-two punch in their rushing attack with Logan Wilson and Jack Kuda, who have a combined 1449 yards rushing. However, the Owls have five players with over 100 yards rushing. Windsor Sophomore Quarterback Jeff Black is growing and continues to spread the ball around to five different targets.
The North County Raiders are heading into Friday night’s game with losses in their last three games, and look to change direction this weekend. The Raider Rushing attack and Defense carried them to a win against the De Soto Dragons in week 3.
This matchup is going to be a running-gunning slugfest, and I think both teams will be looking to add another W to the win column.
Pete’s Prediction: Windsor 24 – North County 19
(The Geek’s Prediction: Windsor 24, North County 17. Yup.)
Herculaneum Blackcats at Bayless Bronchos (Pete’s Predictions)
Herculaneum turnovers and penalties may have plagued their upset bid against Grandview last week. Several big plays were called back due to holding calls. However, the Blackcats will be at Bayless Bronchos this Friday and looking to shred enough yards to help them forget about last weeks game. In their games against Cuba and St. Vincent the Blackcasts rushed for a combined 550 yards. The Blackcats have a great run team and they mix passes in quite well. The Grandview Eagles rushed for 378 yards against the Bronchos in week 3 and the Blackcats dual threat of Struckhoff and Keaton Reeves may try beating that mark.
Bayless has scored 20 or more points in three of their six games, one of those being against the Jefferson Bluejays. Additionally, the Bronchos rallied in the second half of their game against Crystal City to win 43 to 20.
Pete’s Prediction: Herculaneum 35, Bayless 12*
(The Geek’s Prediction: Herculaneum 38, Bayless 14*)
*Dueling picks against an O/U (50) Vegas total
Duchesne Pioneers at Crystal City Hornets (Pete’s Predictions)
Crystal City and Duchesne will meet in the Hornet pit this Friday. The Hornets won the game last year 22 – 07. Both teams have endured a roller coaster ride of ups and downs this season. Duchesne will have to contain Crystal City RB Ricardo Pastrana, who is averaging 10 or more carries per game. However, the Hornets will need to contain Even Kundel, who had 251 combined yards against DuBourg and also contributed a 33 yard return in the Dubourg game.
Pete’s Prediction: Crystal City 28 – Duchesne 14
(The Geek’s Prediction: Crystal City 44, Duchesne 12)
St. Pius Lancers at Miller Career Academy Phoenix …
PREDICTION: LANCERS 31, MILLER 14
